Here comes the sun, and I say, it's all right...

I am in SUCH a good mood right now. I've been listening to the Beatles "Love" album and its so darn good. I don't know if its because I haven't listened to much Beatles lately or just because it so wonderfully remastered, but man. Soooooo swell.

BIG NEWS GA ARIMASU!!! The architecture class I've wanted for some time now and wasn't able to get in decided to create another section! It's in an even better location, ie instead of on central campus its in the Art & Architecture building (on the 3rd floor with all the architecture studios!). Furthermore, we get the sweet architecture desks and have a better working environment. I am so stoked for the class, you all have no idea. I also really love this version of Lady Madonna. Anywho, yeah, if this class is anything that I hope it is I am going to have such a sweet semester. !!! It'll also help me officially decide if architecture is right for me, because who knows, I might end up hating this class or the amount of work. Yikes!

I also just finished my digital homework. We had to make 3 animals out of font characters. My animals are pretty good if I do say so myself...I'm realllly not worried about this class. Woo!

Here come old flattop he come grooving up slowly
He got joo-joo eyeball he one holy roller
He got hair down to his knee
Got to be a joker he just do what he please

He wear no shoeshine he got toe-jam football
He got monkey finger he shoot coca-cola
He say "I know you, you know me"
One thing I can tell you is you got to be free
Come together right now over me

He bag production he got walrus gumboot
He got Ono sideboard he one spinal cracker
He got feet down below his knee
Hold you in his armchair you can feel his disease
Come together right now over me

He roller-coaster he got early warning
He got muddy water he one mojo filter
He say "One and one and one is three"
Got to be good-looking 'cause he's so hard to see
Come together right now over me

What a good song. I went through my Abby Road obsession back in middle school, but I should really get that out. Yes yes.

Is love all you need? Certainly love accounts for 99.99% but its that darn .01% that can really drive you nuts. Something so small can explode into something way too big if you let it. Self control, people, is what that .01% is - and how many people can say they have control over themselves or their love? Sigh.

Howdy.

College is nice. :)

I think about 99.4% of all the girls out on Halloween and the weekend before must have pneumonia. Or maybe frostbite...but I wonder where they might have gotten frostbite, its not as though any of them were wearing clothes. Hnmm. Candy is good though.

So... I have been doing very well in my classes, prior to what I originally thought. I unofficially have an A in my drawing class, which I found odd because I had thought my lala teacher wasn't so keen on my stuff, but apparently its quite the opposite. I also did very well on my ADP midterm, which I had thought I didn't do so hot on, so that was a relief. I might actually have all A's, but Anthro is still up in the air, we'll just have to see.

Ahhh I started this entry with the intention of writing something interesting, but I'm just too darn lazy. OH. I went to the showing of American Splendor at the Michigan Theater and that was way cool. After the movie the creator and his wife came out and did their thing. I had already seen them because in one of my classes earlier that day my teacher brought them in to talk about graphic novels which is what American Splendor is, a graphic novel (turned movie). It was cool!

I think I'm going to give blood in a couple weeks! Woo!

Annnd...yeah. How is everyone doing?

</end>

Ahhh, college. How lovely it is. My dorm is amazing, my roommate is amazing, my COMPUTER PACKAGE is amazing, and just life here is amazing. Meeting people is fun, roaming around Ann Arbor is interesting, and experiencing something different is refreshing. Awww.

I like college. It makes me happy, yes sir it does.

Aww.

OH so today I think I offended some dude's manlyhood. While waiting in line at Subway, the guy in front of me didn't have enough money for his food and so I gave him the $0.07 that he needed...not a "thank you" was given in return or even eye contact. Ugh, what is it with humanity? Sure, he was probably embarrassed about not having enough money but boo hiss. Moral of the story: don't ever be nice to anyone. Ever. They'll probably end up becoming ax-murderers and come back to "return the favor" and then where will we all be. Dead, that's right. You'll end up DEAD if you help people. And that's a bad thing, generally speaking.

Zak! Are you settled in yet?!?!?!

Why hello there, livejournal.

Summer thus far has been very entertaining. The end of school marked the beginning of said entertaining summer and really the entertaining-ness hasn't really stopped. Yay!

Upnorth with Anna and Jenny was really really fun and such a wonderful experience. Being independent with your friends is such a cool feeling. Yo ho for upnorth!

Uhhh...I now am working again at the shoe inn...which isn't really that bad. Ugh but it really makes the days go slower, but hey, money is nice.

Also I have my classes for next year which I am way excited about. They are all set in stone except for Japanese. Until the placement exam for placing into 2nd year Japanese has been taken I can't sign up for the class, so it's just a phantom class at present. But gahhh I will have 18 credits! Yikes! Plus that with the art school load this next semester is looking to be pretty intense. Oh college!

Hnmm. Ho hum. Well I think that's the end of my writing spree, so I hope ya'll enjoyed this lovely entry.

Today...oh today.

Today has been a day that is out of my comfort zone. This is mostly because of boys. Ugh I'm so awkward and I hate not thinking what to say and then later knowing exactly what I should have said and how. I suppose that will pass with time, but still in the moment it bothers me.

Also today I almost DIED walking around downtown Farmington. Honestly, being choked from behind while walking in a public place is NOT SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAPPEN. It scared the crap out of Anna and myself and ahfjdklsafdsa death to all.

Ahhhhhhh.

Howdy, ya'll!

Europe was absolutely amazing. Once I have some lengthy time to spare I'm going to post pictures and summarize like whoa. I took over 500 pictures but of course I'll only post a few of the good ones. Oh man...so wonderful, really, it was an experience I'm so glad I had.

Also, in many local newspapers' sports section, Farmington United's game from Monday was mentioned...annnnd...in every single one of them "Goal tender Susan Bopp saved 30 shots." was printed. The sports blurbs about other teams made no mention of their goalie. That made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. (plus I saved 30 shots. Woo!) :D

Ahhhh...Italy....Paris....ahhhhh...

So my right big toe is a wee bit black and blue. I hope it doesn't fall off...err...the nail, not the toe. Owie.

This week really is odd. I don't like the feeling, it's something that is really unnecessary, and yet it's there. I've pretty much gotten over what was majorly bugging me, but thoughts of it still linger. I'm also pretty sure it's affecting me at lacrosse, since I haven't been up to par recently, but I think now that this odd feeling is leaving I'll get better. Boo hiss.

So why is it that in the end of my senior year I'm getting roped into school events? Awhile ago I had to sign my name away stating that I'll show up to the spring pep rally to talk about lacrosse. I mean I'm captain and I love to talk about lacrosse, but I had to sign my name saying I'd be there...uh...that's sorta sketchy in my opinion. Plus it's a pep rally, come on. I'm also apparently going to be in the senior addition of the Blue and White. They do this senior interview thing for seniors who have specialized in a particular thing or something along those lines and I'll be in it for theater. Hey, why not. Oh school. IT'S ALMOST OVER GAH.

Speaking of which...16 days until Italy and Paris! Yikes!!! I need to get some non-American ish looking clothing. Annnybody want to go shopping with me? I think I at least need some non-tennis shoe shoes, but I have terrible times with shoes so yeah.

For your reading enjoyment, here's a handy dandy French phrase:
Appelez les pompiers! meaning: Call the fire brigade!

toooooeeeee

Go to the music player of your choice and put it on shuffle. Say the following questions aloud and press play. Use the song titles as your answers. NO CHEATING!

How does the world see me?
Song: Toxic
Artist: Britney Spears
Quote: "Don't you know that you're toxic? / And I love what you do / Don't you know that you're toxic?"
Comments: First song and...yeah. I guess this answers the question?

Will I have a happy life?
Song: "Superdrive"
Artist: Gravitation
Quote: "Hey, taking both the good things and the bad things, and adding everything together and dividing by two, and getting along great / I want to spend my life that way."
Comments: I think that sums it up pretty well.

What do my friends really think of me?
Song: "Marmalade"
Artist: Gackt
Quote: "Every day's been colorful... since that day / I want my overflowing feelings to reach you"
Comments: "colorful" - whatever that means!

Do people secretly lust after me?
Song: "Crushing Me"
Artist: Stabbing Westward
Quote: "I'm feeling the weight of the world / And it's crushing me / I'm feeling the weight of everyday life / And it's crushing me"
Comments: In the context of the song, this quote has a negative connotation...so that could go both ways. Or we could take it literal - "Crushing me"! ho ho.

How can I make myself happy?
Song: "Asterisk"
Artist: Orange Range
Quote: "A wish carried on the wind, a request from the moon / to live as fully as possible, day by day"
Comments: There we go.

What should I do with my life?
Song: "Le fant?me de l'op?ra"
Artist: The Phantom of the Opera...in French
Quote: "Sing once again with me our strange duet / My power over you grows stronger yet"
Comments: Yeah uh huh what? Allright guys, it's time for me to become a deranged crazy opera man who lives in a cave but has a very lovely (and full bodied) tan. YEAH!

Why should life be full of so much pain?
Song: "Melody to Tomorrow"
Artist: CHAKA
Quote: "Don't be afraid of anything / As long as we're together, we can walk on without stumbling."
Comments: Because we're all a bunch of stumbling, naive Americans with no sense of reality but WE CAN DO IT TOGETHER! rah rah rah?

How can I maximize my pleasure during sex?
Song: "Horsemen"
Artist: A Band of Bees
Quote: "One more taste can't be a waste / Not where this one's from "
Comments: Exotic-ish?

Will I ever have children?
Song: "Prince Ali (Reprise)
Artist: Aladdin
Quote: "Prince Ali, yes it is he / But not as you know him / Read my lips and come to grips with reality"
Comments: Um. Nothing in this song is good. I guess...I'll have false perceptions of my children if I have children? Yikes...But then Aladdin turns out good! I think it's more serene than happy. And complete, like there is an ending to it all.

What is some good advice for me?
Song: "Neo Universe"
Artist: L'Arc-en-ciel
Quote: "don't let go of that hand / feel this awakening world"
Comments: Embrace....change!!! dun dun DUN.

What is happiness?
Song: "Ocean Breathes Salty"
Artist: Modest Mouse
Quote: "The ocean breathes salty, won't you carry it in? / In your head, in your mouth, in your soul."
Comments: This song is sort of the anti-happiness. Probably one of the most sappy, sad, depressing songs ever. Fetish...hunchbacks...oh dear.

How will I be remembered?
Song: "Bad Communication"
Artist: B'z
Quote: "Hey, hey, I don't understand you anymore / Don't talk deep words with hidden meaning"
Comments: Well technically this is a music video, but still. This song is ALL ABOUT SEX. Seeeeeexxxxxx. It's really quite graphic. This was probably the safest lyric i picked, that wasn't "MAKIN' LOVE AT ALL TIMES" yadda yadda. Ugh.

Well that was lovely. I should be in bed, seeing as it's after midnight and I have lots of things to do tomorrow (like go to the RED WINGS game!!!!!!)

Goodnight!

Now comes the end of the 2006 Winter Olympics. I definitely loved the speed skating snow boarding, and figure skating. That biathlon, as strange as it was, was pretty entertaining as well.

I am, however, going to miss those warm and fuzzy Olympic commercials on CBC. Oh those whacky Canadians.

Flying Tomato!

I was just hit with a huge wave of marching band nostalgia. It was pretty intense, and it hit when 25 or 6 to 4 came on the radio. It made me realize how wonderful our show was last year - how different we were compared to most other bands. Yes, we lacked the flashy props and snazzy dance moves, but man, musically and physically we put on a good show. We were way lucky to be able to do such an energetic, musically entertaining show. Not a lame "theme" show that made the audience search for a connection between the pieces, but rather a straightforward "THIS IS THE BAND "CHICAGO'S" MUSIC," show that was performed well. I'm going to miss marching band, as I'm sure most seniors will, very much in the upcoming year.

My hair is curled! Like, way curled, and it makes me happy.

Oh Alan Shore.

"I wish I knew how to quit you."

Exactly 1 year ago I was violently ill and throwing up the entire day. The good that came of that, however, was that I figured the year could only get better. I'd have to say that I'm not so sure it was. 2005 seemed liked a year filled with pain and, for lack of a better word, death. But with the bad comes the good, so I suppose 2005 evened itself out with good and bad. I can only hope that 2006, the much anticipated year for us seniors, will own up to what we want it to be. Time will only tell.

1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before? applied to college, was accepted into all applied-to colleges, costume crew head, had a job...

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I'm not into new years resolutions, frankly. I believe that you should always "resolve" to do better always, not just specifically for the beginning of a year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? My cousin Amy

4. Did anyone close to you die? My Grandpa Bopp.

5. What countries did you visit? alas none but my own.

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005? love, sex, acceptance? Better gums.

7. What date(s) from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? The day my Grandpa died (and the week of the funeral), Sarah's birthday, my brother's graduation, my uncle's wedding, my portfolio review

9. What was your biggest failure? Just nodding and saying "yes."

10. Did you suffer any illness or injury? January 1st 2005 I had a bad case of the stomach flu. No good indeed.

11. What was the best thing you bought? I suppose art supplies, and gifts for people.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? My father, aunt and uncle, and most importantly my Grandmother.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? I was appalled by a few key performances (which is exactly what they were), but nothing made me depressed.

14. Where did most of your money go? FOOD. Honestly. COFFEE. Honestly. MORE FOOD.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? anticipating the response from U of M (and getting in), PARIS AND ITALY, Marching band!!!!!!!!111!11!1!!, haha junior prom

16. What song will always remind you of 2005? Oh gee, I'd have to say Sarah's summer mix (DON'T CHA)

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
happier or sadder? I don't know
richer or poorer? Er, richer, but I will be poorer once I pay for Europe...

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Being bolder.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Less obnoxious, of course. Also being careless.

20. How did you spend Christmas? I was the last to get up (!!!!) and then my family opened gifts, umm something else inbetween that and dinner, then my grandma and I had an adventure going to Huntington woods, then family din din! Yay for ham.

22. Did you fall in love in 2005? no

23. How many one-night stands? none

24. What was your favorite TV program? Project Runway

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? I don't hate them, because there are a lot of sides to a person, but I certainly feel differently about a lot of people, sometimes in a negative way.

26. What was the best book you read? The Great Gatsby

27. What was your greatest discovery? Doing what I've been imagining about since I was a kid: dealing with college, adults, people, life.

28. What did you want and get? U of M acceptance (yes!!), art supplies and, as zakka said, MAD PAINTING SKILLZ

29. What did you want and not get? Ahhh...not a whole lot. Can't complain, really.

30. What was your favorite movie of this year? Too many movies...Brokeback Mountain, because I can't stop thinking about it.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Ahhh I can't remember, I know I made batman cupcakes that I took to school (!!!) and I believe we went to Red Lobster. Oh yes yes, Red Lobster.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Better gums.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? Oh boy. Erm...whatever looks good (and now a lot more batman apparel)

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? TOO MANY to name. Well, actually, not really. Daniel Radcliffe, James Spader, Jun Matsumoto. Ahhh I'm a dork.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? Geh. Well, I suppose I was most irritated with that Terri Schiavo ordeal. Honestly, let family matters be family matters.

37. Who did you miss? My Grandpa

38. Who was the best person you met? Did I meet anybody? Well I guess I got to know Adam better and I suppose Mike (if you can call it that.)

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005: I learned that even though I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by some of the most interesting and intelligent people out there, even they are susceptible to drama and being simply foolish. But hey, I'm a teenager, what do I know! :D

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: What'll you do when you get lonely / And nobody's waiting by your side? / You've been running and hiding much too long. / You know it's just your foolish pride.

Yay for Arthur the sexy samurai pirate. YES! And HYD, of course.

Double double toil and trouble

I would just like you all to know that the picture from my previous entry is, in fact, a fake.

I'm sorry to all of those who are disappointed.

I wish I had more interesting topics to talk about. Honestly, these days, nothing's worth the effort. Since I was accepted into my first choice college, I have no will to put effort into high school. Especially in studio class, seeing as that is the class to prepare my portfolio, which is complete. Ugh.

Anywho, time to write huge paragraphs about stuff that's pretty much only interesting to me.

Last week I went and visited the Taubman School of Architecture and Urban Planning at UofM, and frankly, it was amazing. It's in the same building as the school of Art and Design, which makes it doubley nifty. So I think, as of right now, this is my plan:

Do Art and Design school for 4 years, get a B.A. in Art and Design with either a minor or double major in Japanese studies. Also study abroad in Japan-land for a year.

Afterwards, work for awhile, then go back to the Architecture school for their 3G program (their masters program for people who do not have a pre-professional degree in architecture) for 3 and a half years, and then do the architecture thing.

That is my plan. My original plan, for those of you who remember it, was to do art school for the first 2 years and then apply to the school of Architecture for the remaining last two years (which is the same process, applying to the architecture school at the end of your sophomore year regardless of where you are applying from). However, with that plan in mind, I always had a problem with studying abroad for a year. Since you attend the architecture school your last two years, I had planned on studying abroad my junior year, and this would obviously cause a problem. But on my tour last week, the guide I had was able to help my specific needs and guide me through all of the possible paths I could take to applying to the architecture school.

You see, when you apply to the architecture school, you leave the other school you were at and therefore cannot graduate with a degree from your first school. Since I'm leaving one school for another, while my credits transfer to the Architecture school, the requirements for the art degree become void because the school of Architecture does not have a Art degree program. So, basically, doing art for 2 years and then going to Architecture in the hopes of double-majoring is not possible because I can't have a degree from a school that doesn't offer it. Which is now why I have a new plan.

I apologize to all of you who actually read the above. It's pretty boring, I know. It was just a way for me to write out (only sort of coherently) what my future plans might be, but of course, all of those can change in a drop of a hat. That's what being a teenager is all about, right? Oh I just want to learn so much in college...

The studio in the Architecture school is outstanding, by the way. It's where hundreds of drafting boards are crammed together with papers and clutter everywhere. It's such a different sight, seeing how the students actually live and work. Truly amazing. And since it's basically the entire floor of the college, it's huge. I believe it's the biggest drafting studio in the U.S. (Oh yes, and mostly the exterior wall is entirely windows. Lots of light.) Haha sorry, there I go again.

Ok ok, I'm done with college stuffs! I'll just go back to Harry Pott and his purring monster sex drive thingy.

This made me chuckle.

Being on the beautiful University of Illinois campus really made me want to go to college. Right now. Who's with me?!

I'll make a man out of you

Golly, my brain feels like a potato squished in my head. Ugh.

Soooo the entirety of today was spent in ala Ann Arbor at our 7 on 7 lacrosse tournament! Woot. It was a success, I think, because we were able to practice outside of the season, but boy do we have eons of work ahead of us if we want to up our game. I did get a Vietnamese dinner out of today, though! And boy is Vietnamese coffee delicious.

Yesterday was rather odd. Ok so get this: in the morning I'm over at Amy's doing a sociology project and once I leave there I go home to an empty house and lounge around. I eventually fall asleep on the family room couch, and during the course of that time BOTH of my parents come home looking for me and hollering for me and end up not being able to find me. On the couch. In the family room. (???)

Once I woke up, I wandered upstairs and low and behold my mum was there, and asked "Where were you?! Your father and I were both looking for you like crazy." I respond, very sleepily, "Ughhh...I was asleep on the family room couch...you couldn't find me...?" "Well, no, apparently not. By the way the jeep's gone and your father just bought a new car."

"...."

Yeah. So while I was asleep for less than an hour, in plain sight on the family room couch, both of my very capable parents were UNABLE to locate me AND my dad bought a car. A very nice car, but still. wtf.

Oh! I got into Michigan! A future exists for Susan, that it does. Yesss.

That was my week in a nutshell.
G:
Your Beauty lies
in Individuality. Different, amazing, and all your
own. You like be set apart
from all others and most love that you do. You are
solitary at times, but for
the most part, there is no greater compliment to
you than someone telling you
that you are different. You're most likely a bit of
a fighter and you hate it
when anyone attempts to change who you are. You
wear what you want, look how you
want and don't let anyone tell you what do to. You
can be a little immature at
times and have trouble dealing with authority and
asking others for help. You
like to do things yourself and are independent
almost to a fault. But, people
still find your individuality amazing and the fact
that no matter what happens
or what anyone else anyone thinks about it, you
will not change who you are.</font>

Some Things
That Represent You:

Element:
Dark, Fire Animal: White Tiger Color:
Bold Colors, Odd
Colors Song: Just They Way I Am by Angel
Expression: Smirk

Gemstone:
Bloodstone Mythological Creature: Phoenix,
Dragon Planet: Pluto
Hair Color: Unnatural Colors Eye
Color:
Amber

Quote:
"You laugh because I'm different. I laugh
because you're all the same."

Where Does Your Beauty Lie? ..::Original Pictures Are Back! Detailed Results::..
brought to you by Quizilla

I think I've taken this quiz before and gotten the same result. I guess that's a good thing.

I need to see Rieddhi and Kateling soon. Honestly, this is getting ridiculous.
